How to be the Hostess with the Mostess during a Bridal Shower Party

Your best friend's wedding is coming up and as her bridesmaid and dear friend it is time to get your Martha Stewart persona and plan an amazing bridal shower party for her. It is a great event of gift giving for the bride-to-be in anticipation for her own wedding. So what should you do to plan a beautiful bridal shower party with the mostess as the hostess without spending much?

First, you must consider what the bride would want and who they want to invite for the bridal party. It would be awkward to have guests the bride doesn't like or are not even invited for the wedding. To avoid those mishaps, talk to the bride first on what she wants for her own bridal shower party. Find out if she wants to have it during daytime or in the evening with all ladies only or coed, and etc. You need to know what she wants but do not ask her too much in a sense that she is the one planning the entire event. She still needs to be wowed and be surprised during her own bridal shower party of course.

Then, after you discover the Dos and Don'ts from the bride it would be fitting to choose an ideal theme for the bridal shower. If your bride is fascinated with the 80's fashion, then have a disco diva bridal shower. You can ask the attendee to dress in the theme as well to make it more fun. But if your bride is into books and literature, you can have a tea party in your garden. Whatever theme you select from serious to quirky to elegant, always remember what the bride wants since this party is for her.

Consider the food that you will be serving at the party as well. You can serve foods which are aligned with the theme of the party. So if you are having a Hawaiian party in your own pool you can have luau food. To save money, you can ask your fellow bridesmaids and attendees to bring pot luck food that would be suited for the event.

Lastly, do not forget the drinks. If your bride wants an afternoon party, you can serve ice teas, colas, lemonade, and light alcohol like sparkling wine. If it is a cocktail party in the evening, you can get them champagnes and cocktail drinks like cosmos and slingers. Always remember to offer a toast to the bride.

There are many other ways to add fun to the traditional bridal shower party. So have fun girls!
